I'm getting this X3 for the wife. I'm not in love with the exterior design (i actually like the Audi Q5 more), with that said it's not really that ugly. It's like finding a woman that's a 7 out of 10 for her looks but is trustworthy, low maintenance, nice on the inside and a blast in the sack. At the end of the day, it's going to put a smile on my wife's face, while I'll get a bit of satisfaction driving it on road trips while taking a break from the 335is. The 'M' version of this car will be fantastic, I'm not really sure how many we'll see on the roads but I bet it will outperform the X5M and X6M!

IMHO the new X3 failed on the looks department, but your quote above best decribes it.

That car is absolutely gorgeous, imo!

Wow! What a ways the X3 has come! The last gen X3 was just hideous. Bravo, BMW!

That's the least we expect from a car.But IMO it just doesn't stack up with its competition in the looks dept.I know looks aren't everything but its good to own a nice looking car

WTF BMW? Why the hell can't they seem to make a good looking X3. I want to replace my 08 RAV4 next year.I love the Audi Q5, but I drove one and believe it or not it has less balls than my RAV4 V6 Sport. The Mercedes is soulless, I badly want to like this X3. I want to want it as a replacement because I am totally in love with my 335i, but alas, BMW gave it such an ugly face exterior, and I am having a hard time getting past the looks. The X5 is gorgeous, too big for my needs, and a bit more than I really want to pay. Still I may wind up opting for it over this ugly thing. I am sure it will drive better than the X5. If the Q5 got a Turbo diesel or more powerful gasoline engine in the US, I'd gladly pay more for one and this debate would be over. But it s what it is.

Mercedes: Soul-less
Q5: Sturning looks. 10/10 bombshell with not enough ooomph.
X3: All the right mix in the sauce, but so ugly I'd hate to look at it every morning and probably regret buying one.

Does anyone know if the electrically powered steering mentioned in the articles is an optionor is it mandatory. All articles criticize the feel with the el. pwrd steering.

Wow, nice, thanks for posting that review!

50 mpg!! Why can't we get the diesel version in the US!

I do remember that iAd that was posted a while back said the new X3 has millions of possible configurations for it's drivers... I'll take one that gets 50mpg!

Looking forward to more reviews as the release date nears.

I think the car looks good. Seems to appropriately balance function of a crossover with style. Drives well. Interior looks and feels like a BMW. Looking forward to delivery!
