2005 X3 hestition at 2.5 -3 rpms...
My X3 has developed a hesitation or stutter when the tach is between 2.5 and 3 and it's under a medium load. No one can figure it out. The dealer first said it was because I have "non BMW approved" tires on the car, and now after push back from me is suggesting a transmission replacement. I really don't think that's the problem, and my private mechanic agrees. Has anyone has similar problems? Any suggestions? I'm at my wits end.
Many thanks! |

This happened to my car twice. The first time at 72,000 miles, they determined it was the DME, which they replaced. The problem was solved.
At 135,000 miles, it happened again, but replacing the air filter solved it. I am now at 181,000 miles and have not had the problem since. |
