Driver side convex mirror
Is there a way to change the driver side mirror to a convex mirror (similar to passenger side i.e. objects are closer than they appear). This is because it leaves a lot of blind spot area. In my previous car, both mirrors were convex and hence I find this difficult.

Yes, BMW sells a wide angle mirror for the driver’s side (and passenger side) which is mostly “convex” with an aspherical section at the end. We have no info as to what or which type of mirrors you have…so you’ll have to go to one of the online part databases and input the last 7 digits of your VIN…then go to the VEHICLE TRIM diagrams where you can find the 11 digit BMW part nbrs to shop/order the correct mirror glass you need.
You can see that there are 4 different diagrams based on how your X is optioned and what type of mirror housing you have. The S430a mirrors are the auto-dimming type….and the part database will list all the part nbrs based on if you have that option or heating etc. Click this link, enter the last 7 digits of your VIN, then go to the VEHICLE TRIM diagrams to find the part nbrs for the mirror glass: www.bimmercat.com
The X5 & f06 were both parked in the same parking space…note how the wide angle mirror has an increased viewing field & you can tell by the number of parking spaces you can see in the wide angle pics.
