Seat and mirror position memory
Car: X4 M40i with Comfort Access (standard).
Situation: I am 6'1 and driver's seat is adjusted accordingly. I use one particular key and I have one of the Driver Profiles assigned to me/that key. I come home, park the beast in the garage, but I do not lock it (in my own garage). Car goes to sleep. The next day, my wife needs to use the car. She is considerbly shorter than I and obviously needs seat to be adjusted. She enters the car with her own key - but the seat does not move. She cannot reach brake pedal to start the car. If I read the manual correctly, the seat/mirror memory ONLY works when the car is unlocked. Since we don't lock/unlock the car in our own garage, Comfort Access and Driver Profiles is useless in this situation. Very disappointed that the car isn't smart enough to sense that a different key is approaching and initiate an adjustment of the seat accordingly. Please tell me I am missing something here (car is a week old, so still trying to figure out the beast).

Very disappointed in BMW's engineering in this area. Pathetic, actually.

Strange. I haven't had this issue when my wife and I swap vehicles. Is the idrive setting correct - I.e. remember last seating position? Just a thought.
