Exclamation Crazy electrical problem - must see quick video

Weird thing is happening with the rear lights when I lock/unlock my car or use the flashers/hazards. The video below is a slow-mo of me clicking the unlock button (you know, beep beep and 2 flashes from the hazards). Clearly you can see the left side flashes out of time with right, it comes on and goes off faster. Anyone seen this before? What's wrong? Can it be fixed through coding if at all?
The front and sidemarker lights flash in time like normal, it's just the rear signals that flash like this.

The cause might be a blown bulb somewhere on the circuit. The question is, are both lights on the same circuit? If they are not, then the faster blinking bulb is on the circuit with a bad bulb somewhere. If they are on the same circuit, then there is a bad ground somewhere... I think!

All the bulbs are working so its not that... Figuring out the rest of that should be fun though...

Physically go round to each light receptacle and follow the wires back. Look for loose earth wires and/or connectors. Tighten up any earth bolts.
Cars have changed hugely in their technology, but the humble earth lead is still required :-)

Well after no luck fixing this (all grounds seem to be fine), and after not being able to forget about the problem... anyone have any more suggestions?
