I have ordered Chrome tip and mud flaps, but will self fit as dealer wants £150 to fit for an hours work.

Yes, looks rubbish without

snap in Advantages
Tidier, no white lead flapping around and no danger of cutting it with armrest
Frees up USB socket so you can charge your iPhone and use the USB for something else
More secure, phone doesn't slide around
Phone is hidden from thieves *

Disadvantages
Takes up way too much room
If it does the boost the signal, it's negligible. I've never seen an improvement and BMW couldn't see any improvement on 2 different cars
Can't use if you have a permanent case on your iphone
Get an iPhone 5 and you'll be waiting a year for a new snap-in adaptor!
iPhone gets HOT

Another advantage of the snap-in adapter is that you can watch video from your iphone.

Another disadvantage is that even without a case it can be difficult to get the iPhone to snap in.

do believe dealer said mats were included.. not sure which ones.. am less fussed about it than anything else... tend to clean my car once every wk or 2 so it doesn't really get dirty that often on the inside...

sounds like the snap in adapter is not really worth it then... am sure my missus will find a better use of the space than the adapter.. like makeup kits!

Here's an irony ... as the arrival of my X3 finally approaches, I'm no longer in a rush for delivery. I'm currently in a 318d pool car whilst I wait for the X3 and I've grown quite attached to not paying anything for it (apart from a little bit of tax) and getting 56mpg on my weekly commute between Leeds and Slough.

The 3 series also lacks any form of phone prep so I get conscience free travelling not fielding work calls whilst I drive.

I guess it's a win either way for me

It doesn't get any better once its delivered either! I'm looking at accessories almost every day, although not decided on anything yet other than the mat for the back.

I can't honestly see the point in the snap in cradles.. with the iphone in my last car there was never an improved signal.. I used to get better signal taking it out, and with bluetooth music streaming the only reason I can think of having it would be for the signal, which ive never seen any difference with

OK, update from the 1st man to own 2 F25's in the UK.

1st X3 sold and taken to the buying dealership.

2nd X3 delivered tomorrow. +Sports Steering wheel (yeehar!), Pro nav & 6NR.

For those interested, in real terms it didn't cost me a bean owning the first one so my gamble appears to have paid off.

Will post pics tomorrow as well as a thread about cleaning Oyster leather using the official leather care kit. It works brilliantly!

Your lucky, two dealer collections of a new car in a short time!!! I (and others) will be interested in your 'cost free' 1st F25 - how did the figures come to a zero sum? What is 'real terms'? Is the new one a 3.0D?

Many congrats

Dealer called to say car is at the port, ETA ready end of the week for collection. (Not sure how it got to southampton. Independence II docked in Germay afaik).

Ive been watching the wrong ship. Got an email today telling me the car has arrived at Thorne. The dealer is waiting for the delivery to them. They have been told to expect delivery on the 26th. That's 6 days way, it's only Birmingham which is only 150 mile away. I've been told pick up 28/29th. Think I'd better take the tracking of the independence 2 now.

Barking up the wrong ship

Looks like a few of us have been barking up the wrong ship.
My X3 also is due at the Dealers on the 26th, collecting on the 28th.
I have the chrome tail pipe and mudflaps on order.
Since I left out the Xline package, I've ordered the sill protectors also.
Here's looking forward to next week
