Porsche hit a home run with the Macan. It'll likely be their best-selling vehicle by volume in the next few years.

Now there's a "real" Porsche, with 4 doors, some bonkers power train and looks the part. Gimme some!

That's a terrible render of the Pajun, but yeah. It'll either be the Macan or the Pajun.

And what is BMW thinking with those black buttons under the wheelarches? Same story with every X, a really bad visual solution. I don't dislike the X4 though.

How about this render? Looks better IMHO. This is the one I would buy.

Macan has more options, like the air suspension or Porsche Torque Vectoring that the X4 does not offer. This drives the price of a well-loaded Macan much higher. But at that point, you have additional equipment on the Macan, i.e. more car that you are paying more for.

You need to configure them to have similar equipment - only then is it an apples to apples comparison. This is what I did - I added options like m-sport package (Wheels + aesthetics) /Turbo look wheels (Macan), comfort access/keyless entry, premium sound system, lumbar support, auto dim mirrors, rear camera etc etc) on both cars and the price was only a couple of grand apart. And for that difference, the Macan has the PDK standard (not an option on the X3/X4) and has 40 more horses. If you added the Performance Tune to the X3, they would be priced within a few hundred $ of each other.

So the biggest reason the Macan S is a home run is that it is in fact very reasonably priced even if you get the most important performance/handling/tech/comfort options.

Wait for the 4 cylinder Macan with 250+ HP starting in the low 40s, $ 50k well equipped, and no one will buy the X3 IMO.

IMO I will pick Macan S any day.

Very nice render. I think the Pajun has the potential if comparably priced to the 5-series (i.e. a few grand higher). The Panamera hasn't taken over the 7 series in sales volume because the price premium is too high.

Guys, I think the reason why Porsche is looking way better in this comparison is NOT because the Porsche is "actually better", but how arguably X4 is disappointing...
An old design (2010 F25 interior and chasis,...) has just created a BIG question mark what was BMW after with this line...
Otherwise, I do not find the Porsche that attractive as everyone is acknowledging: a very ugly dashboard design,...nothing new in their exterior design (a me-too same as their other line ups), crampy rear seats,...
of course since the X4 has nothing to offer, the Porsche has become the "one-eye" king in the land of "blinds"...

Macan Turbo all day long. Are they coming out with a regular Macan next year? 4 cylinder or more sublime 6?

I apologize for that, and I regret this mistake.

BOT, the Macan KILLS the X4 in every possible way. It's sad really.

Macan all the way... But if you want to mix it up. The rear of the X4 is the only thing that beats the Porsche... Joking

Macan will spank it so hard. Maybe x4m can be mentioned in the sentence, Porsche engineers don't mess around with tuning suspension

I think the vehicle is already in back order, Porsche cannot produce enough to meet demand

I hope Porsche improved the body structure, all the Cayenne doors in the front fall lower than the rear ones after too much use. I also hope that this one will not discharge the battery every night so you cant start it in the morning. Porsche doesn't worth the money...
X1 gets my vote.
X1 is a jacked-up touring !

X1 is also based off old tech/platform.

Thanks for the video. I just came back from dune bashing in Sharjah UAE. The group of 18 trucks were all Land Cruisers and one Nissan Patrol. There were a separate party of 3 Discoveries. It was lots of fun.

That X4 looks like a 3er GT, so damn awkward and ugly. Macan is lovely, esp the turbo good heavens
