New engine run-in
Do new Diesel engines need to be run-in at all ?

Apparently not... and no oil early change either.
We ran ours gently for first 2000 miles and changed the oil at 3000 but it is not really necessary it would seem.

Well, I had the same question. My technical advisor who handed over the car to me at the time of delivery last week mentioned that first 2000KM should be run below 150km/h and below 3.5 RPM. After 2K, I can drive it like I stole it 😀
He also pointed me to the onboard manual - just type in run in and there is a detailed section for general, engine, breaks etc. |

I reckon I'll be wheel spinning off the forecourt and just carry on with my foot to the floor !

All Ive done with my last few new cars is take it steady for 500 miles, so no full throttle starts, no high revs. It's just as important to bed the brakes in well.
