I personally think it resembles the Lexus LX more than the E61. There are some similarities though.

You can buy these tail lights at Walgreens' for $39.99 a pair + tax - and that's for the battery powered LED option. No wonder every car manufacturer on the planet is using them!

Is it just me or Mercedes is just starting to follow BMW using LED bars for the tail light.. and BMW is starting to follow Mercedes by putting blinker on the side mirrors.. hmm

Honestly car companies copy each other all the time, it's nothing new. While Audi popularized LED headlights the Lexus LS 600H was the first to use it and even the Honda Civic has a Hofmeister kink now and it's more pronounced than the one on the E90 at that.

Richard Hammond from Top Gear said it the best, watch it til the 1 minute mark, more if you want to check out the Vauxhall Bathurst
