I have owned my space gray with Oyster interior for a year now and love the combination. I agree with the other posts it does require weekly/monthly maintenance. The return is a very luxurious, clean and bright looking interior to enjoy. I use Lexol cleaner and conditioner. I have used this product on my leather surfaces for years and am very happy with it.
To answer the original question, NO I do not regret ordering Oyster and would order it again! I really enjoy the color combination. |

Was showing some discoloration after 900 miles from jeans maybe. Came clean with some Magulars leather conditioner. Didn't need to go to the cleaner. Love the look of the Oyster, cool and inviting to sit in.

We had a bad case of dye transfer to the Oyster seats from my wife's dark blue jeans. Despite efforts from myself, our dealer and a leather refinisher, the dye could not be cleaned - even a few HOURS after the transfer occurred - and we had to have the leather replaced. It DOES happen, so be very, very careful with jeans and the oyster leather. I have heard that many of the darker jeans should be washed before they are worn to get rid of some of the dye and to make a transfer less likely. I also just bought some Leather Master Barrier protection and Dye Transfer Cleaner to hopefully avoid this occurring again.

The problem is with the jeans not the leather. The same would happen with a light sofa in the home.

You are correct, but interestingly, I have the cream beige interior on my 3er Cabriolet, and have experienced no dye transfers or cleaning issues in the 5 years that I have owned the car. And my wife wears the same jeans in both vehicles. Nobody has been able to explain it, but it did happen. I dont know if they were prepared differently or from a different supplier, but buyer beware...

It's a light color so you have to clean it a little more than you would a dark color. That's as simple as it is. To some it's worth it.. to others it's not. I've seen the all black interior and to us it was boring so we went with the contrasting color..don't regret the move at all

After 2 months of daily use in (good quality) blue jeans and 2,000 miles, I don't see any need to clean the leather yet...

We have done 18000 miles and it still looks fab..... My boss would not have had black! As for jeans it is only new unwashed jeans that are a problem.
If you regret it after 500km then your seriously not looking after it.

When I was researching new cars I went to the annual automotive show. BMW had a VR with oyster interior and the seats were noticeably blue jean stained from the thousands of arses sitting in the new car.
This trip to the car show was my primary reason ordering something other than the light seating surface.
