Well two days and no call from the sales guy

Lengthy detailed email/letter sent to head of BMW customer services and general manager of dealer.

I don't think it appropriate to post it here but it follows the lines above in previous posts

I found that the revised delivery date on the new contract they sent out was 30/4/15 so it is only 2 working days late and there is no mention there of revised px

Also I have asked for urgent clarity around the repair status

Finally I have informed them that I consider them in breach of our contract

So .. The saga continues

you know Andy, at first I found it all quite amusing. But by now I don't see any humor in it anymore. These Park Lane guys are very dishonest to you and not worthy of carrying the BMW Logo (or any other brand).

I hope you get it sorted out soon.

Ditto. Hopefully you'll get somebody at BMW CS that appreciates your issues and not a jobsworth!!

I hope someone from Park Lane BMW follows this forum so they get a view of the damage being done to their reputation.

Andy, if a panel has been resprayed and if you get to see the car....check it under artificial lighting, preferably neon. Red is possibly the worst colour to match, it can look fine in daylight but lousy at night. They should use the correct paint, but it would be worth checking.

I hope you end up with a satisfactory resolution.

So ..

The email I sent has worked .. Deal back to what was agreed

Confirmed that the car has not been damaged

The status was because they were rushing it through PDI as a priority

So I should become a fully paid up member of the X3 LCI club on Tuesday morning next week

Happy now ...

Well done Goes to show you don't get anywhere unless you complain to the right people, I sent a steak back last week and got a free sweet

Hope everything goes according to plan now!

When I got mine it had 5.6 miles on the clock not bad to say it came from the States!

All sorted now for pick up Tuesday morning

Long drive down to London will be on the road about 5am

Will be interesting to do a back to back comparison between the outgoing X1 and incoming X3, over the 500+ mile round trip

The X1 has been superb and faultless, just outgrown it a little.

There are no rattles or creaks and the paint and leather interior still look like new after 48000 miles

I am now getting excited again .. It has been a long journey to get here .. Not without its ups and downs

One final journey in the X1

Saw a Melbourne red SE on a stobart transporter on Wednesday which set my mind at rest as I thought it looked very good .. Only one I've seen in the flesh

Have a good bank holiday weekend guys

Thanks for sharing your recent saga Andy. Very useful to know as mine is coming from Park Lane also albeit I'm not part exchanging anything. I'm glad they sorted it for you but it still leaves me wary that they tried it on in the first place. You were right to not accept that proposal and who cares if they could have sold the car 5 times over, it's the principle of feeling like you've been done over. I'd have walked away in the same way you were going to but I'm so happy that in the end you managed to resolve it.

No prob flip flop ... Can't beat a good saga! And there have been a few on here .. Not all involving me either

In all fairness park lane have been superb overal.. But distance buying is always fraught with the ability for miscommunication's

They were spot on with original build dates and expectations .. We had a little hiccup last week ... And I suppose many would have just accepted it .. Probably most
Unfortunately and confirmed by my wife I have a stubborn streak that is a wide as the Irish sea .. And I would have just walked out of the showroom !

The workshop status was the vehicle being prepped and Pdi'd at Thorne

So after standing up for myself .. And clearing the air were all friends again ..
