Voice Control without NAV?

Agree with this... Choosing technology options seems to be a bit of a (a poorly explained) minefield.

Have just added Internet to my spec. Not because I feel I need it (I don't), but am worried what I WONT be able to do (especially in future - plan to keep the car 5 to 7 years) if I don't get it! Husband is getting a 5 Series at the same time (with all the technology options, including Internet) and I have a feeling that we might come to regret/curse it if his has technology options that mine doesn't...

Bluetooth here with voice contrl, no nav.

Official word is it also comes with BMW Assist so that's why he has it. Still going to make a formal complaint to BMW as a standard feature is listed as "handsfree" Bluetooth. To me that means voice control so you don't have to use your hands!

Nickel and diming. They force you to buy Assist to get these features. Can you play MP3s off a flash drive in yours?

i can play music from flash drive plugged into usb outlet..but voice button has no function for me

Does anyone knows that the reason I cant play my ipod thru the usb is because I didnt have the optional software to support ipod/iphone? tho I have a business nav sat and standard sound system?

Not sure on options in your market but you need a USB audio interface option and if you don't have this you'll need a Y cable to connect your iPod.
