Question Re: Driving in Canada

I have a question for Canadian X3 owners. I will likely by making a road trip to Newfoundland in the near future, driving through New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It's been decades since I've driven a US-spec car in Canada. My recollection is that either daytime running lights or daytime headlight use is required by law in Canada. My question is will the Angel Eyes DRLs satisfy the requirement, or will I need to use the Xenons?

The Angel Eyes DRLs are ok. In fact, it's the DRL for BMW car in Canada

Thanks Franck and FX3OK. I'll leave my headlamp switch in the Auto position, and the Angel Eyes DRLs that I use every day in the US will be what I use in Canada.

Should be a spectacular trip.

I was just saying to a co-worker yesterday that I'd like to ride the rock (Nfld) on the motorcycle. Maybe tie it into the same time as the Nfld Targa Rally.

Thanks, I agree, and I'm looking forward to the driving part of it. I won't be driving in the Targa, but I did drive part of the NL Trans Canada last weekend in a rental. It's an ugly road, with ruts that will suck in wet weather. I plan to move off of the ruts, and have some fun with the X3.

Daytime running lights are required on all cars SOLD in Canada. They are not required on cars that are DRIVEN in Canada. So you can still drive a US spec car in Canada even if it does not have daytime running lights.
