Anyone have any pictures of their X3 with the new 599m wheels?
These new wheels are awesome looking! 21" offset 325 rears and 285 fronts

I think the dimensions are for the X5 version of 599m wheel.
This is copied from the X3 PDF catalogue: 21" BMW M Performance light alloy wheels Double-spoke style 599M, forged, in Bicolor matt Black, burnished on the visible sides, with four-colour M Logo and mixed tyres. Front: 8,5 J x 21 with 245/35 R 21 tyres. Rear: 10 J x 21 with 275/35 R 21 tyres. The same goes for the 310m wheel. There is one version for X3 and one version for X5. Also according to BMW 245 front and 275 back is recommended maximum for x3. |

X4 is amazing chose it over the Macan, I will be posting my 1000km review hopefully by the weekend in the X4 forum.
Check out my X4 Macan crosshopping thread here that has elicited some heated debates in the Macan forum -->> http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1038394 Btw handling of X4 is way better than X3 even without VDC and comfy too. Last edited by Bimar; 11-17-2014 at 01:33 PM.. |

Make sure the X4 is compared with an LCI X3. I'm not saying they'll be equal but the LCI has benefited from improvements vs the pre-LCI.

The BMW figures suggest so but have they changed engine and gearbox mappings or is this marketing? It's not clear.

Interior is updated, idrive is newer, surround cameras are so awesome, driver assist, sound proofing quiet like a mouse, more standard option, more expensive than X3. The LCI X3 similar interior, but different body and sound proofing.
Note if you want exhaust note get the 35i for the N20s are just too quiet --->>> http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1050433 Did i mention it has more space than the Macan and longer than the X3?? However the Macan seats are just killer, plenty of video comparison on X4 forum. On performance X4 quicker than any X3 by a few milli seconds as per the brochure, must be due to aerodynamics., there are also various aftermarket tunes if that's your cup of tea.The X4 M40i will be Macan turbo fast if not faster Got to your local dealer and see if you like it especially the shape, see both Msport (which I feel BMW made car ugly) and Xline and decide for yourself. X4 not for everyone |

I agree, the reason the look good in the X5 and not the X3/4 is because the X5 has a higher diameter wheel/tire combo and thus the tire side wall is beefier... The X3/4 cant do that without some negative side effects and in trying to match the stock w/t diameter it looks like a wagon wheel.... i would stay away from them... you will have a harsh ride... |

By the way, i have driven both M-Sport equivalents... They are both great, but they handle about the same. Acceleration and gear shifts more aggressive on the X4 which could be the reason the X4 is quicker (less than half a second) along with better aerodynamics. i could be crazy on this but i think engine sound on the X4 is being rerouted through the speakers. either that or the firewall sound absorbing materials are different... As far as length, they are less than an inch difference between the 2 (2.90 cm's) and you will in no shape or form see it or feel it...This could be due the rear bumper which is different. Passengers in the back will definite lose head space, specially tall ones. in the end, the X4 is an X3 with different roof that is 22 pounds lighter... if you want a sportier look and like hatch backs, go for the x4... if you want a sportier SUV with all the space you can get, i would go for the X3 and its cheaper too..!
