Sold My e90 and just got X3 3.5 M Sport. Order it last 3 weeks ago and just picked it up on Friday.

So far I love the car but wanted to know if anyone had any info on some of the issues that i came across already.
  • Ride is pretty harsh even after driving 335 Sport for 4 years
  • Steering wheel looks a bit off center while the car is driving straight ( does it take time for suspension to adjust?)
  • lastly already hearing some rattle coming somewhere from the driver side AC Vent

Here are some picture of the car.

Welcome and nice F25. I haven't noticed any of the issues you are having...maybe someone will chime in. Enjoy.

Welcome, Great looking F25.

Driving an E46 M3 and the wife's E90 335 Sport (the F25's replacement) the F25 is a different, but a fantastic ride. We took delivery 8 days ago and it is a touch harsher ride, but you are in a higher stanced SUV, not a sedan or coupe. Give yourself a month or 2 on the road and you'll adjust to the higher stance and that should adjust your expectation as a driver. This is not a complaint from my end, just a simple driver expectation adjustment. Aside from feel, initial braking is the biggest adjustment I have needed to make.

As to the off center wheel, ours lined up dead straight from Day 1, it may be something you want your dealership to investigate. Ditto for the rattle.

Again, congratulations !

Very, very nice! I'm in Switzerland and have the 35D but can't say I have any of the issues you mention.

Re the steering wheel alignment, I would carry out a test when on a quiet straight road with little or no camber (I know that may be difficult). If you let go of the steering wheel the car should not pull in any direction, if it does the wheel alignment may be off. Either way it needs to be fixed, if its alignment sooner rather than later to avoid tyre wear. If its the steering wheel alignment it's a quality issue I would take up with the dealership. The noise behind the dash is probably easy to trace and remove.

Car looks great.

Looks awesome, good luck with it. I would definately bring it in for the steering wheel issue. as the others have said, most likely an alignment issue.

its common issue for the rattling interior trim, take it to the service center.
rattle on the sunroof center piece, fixed by adding felt tape

congrats on new ride.

It seems like you don't have DDC. I feel 19 inch 369rim+GY runflat ride is pretty harsh too. I'll try Michellin primacy MXM4 (non-rft) this week and let you know how it works for ride comfort improvement.

My wife likes the ride of our new X35i MSport (w/DHP), go figure Just curious how you can tell from the above information that it does not have DDC.

I am about to trade in my wife's 2011 328xi non-sport for a X3 35i. The X3's ride compare to the 328i is like night and day. The X3 feels like a Lexus compare the 328i. The X3 we are looking at have 17" tires, I am sure that makes a difference but not to the extend you are discripting. Does the M-Sport have stiffer suspension? I know that the GY Eagle LS are notorious for harsh ride.

Thanks I'm curious how much different it will be, but then you have to have a spare in the car.

M Sport in US gives you 19" all season tires but no Sport Suspension unless you get Dynamic Control package which after reading reviews makes the car even firmer.

Thanks, was there an easy fix or do you have keep bringing the car back and forth to the dealer to get that resolved. So far the only noise i hear is from AC vent on the driver side

Drove the car again today it seems that it's driving straight just the center of the wheel is a bit off. Going to schedule an appointment to have them look at it.

I noticed that on my x3 when I first got the car...I don't know if it's an optical illusion as the car drives straight. Perhaps (in my case ) it was the change from hydraulic steering to electric steering.

Mine drives straight as well but the wheel is little bit off center. Did yours fix itself or did you take it to the dealer?

Very nice. I haven't experienced any of those issues...just some wind noise that appears to be coming from the front doors. I also find the ride of the X3 to be a lot smoother than my previous car (E92 335 Xdrive MSport) which had 18" RFTs.

So i found the answer to my rough ride and my steering wheel issue. Two tie rods are bent forward and both front tires are ruined. It seems as this damage occurred during transport.

Here is my dilemma do i get this car fixed or do i make them get me a new car since i'm not sure if there a permanent damage done to the car.

Wow! Tires are ruined? How many miles and how bad is the wear? You probably cannot "make" them get you a new car but you might be able to negotiate it if they cannot make it 100% perfect.
