Passenger seat rattle

After 4 months of blissful ownership I have my first rattle

Its coming from the passenger seat. I know this because when someone is sat on the seat there is no rattle! It then takes a while to reappear.

Can't see anything obvious - anyone any ideas or is it a trip to the stealer?

PS they are manual, not elec seats.

Cheers
Yeltzer

Not sure how it sounds ofourse. But we had an X5 with a "rattle" from te seat, turned out to be the base of the seat back vibrating against the rear of the seat base....leather against leather. Went if you slipped your hand or some material between the surfaces it stopped.

Long shot but maybe worth a try?

I've got a noise coming from the drivers seat when I'm seating on it (particularly when going around roundabouts). I wouldn't call it a rattle though.

I've booked it in as its starting to annoy me now.

Well the rattle finally got too much and its gone into the dealer today to be looked at (although, typically, the rattle has subsided quite dramatically in the past couple of days!!!). Been given an F30 320i loaner for the day - quite impressed, but strange being back in a low-slung car again!

Some creaking on the passenger side seat when someone is sitting on it and there's some acceleration going on and around sharp turns.

Hope they get it first time for you, took a couple of visits to finally get mine sorted.

Think they may have done!! Certainly no rattling has reoccurred. Told me they took the seat out, stripped it down, lubricated all the necessary parts and reassembled.

Fingers crossed that that's the end of it.

It's back

Am loathed to book it in for a separate session when first service will be due in 2 or 3 months. Just annoyed that it's come back.

Looks like it may need one or two more trips to stop the dreaded rattle!

Passenger seat rattle

You probably already have this sorted but if not, I had exactly the same problem. Stealer couldn't sort it out, I found the wire running down the middle of the seat belt pretensioner was rattling, put a little spong down there and cured it
