I usually keep it in my pocket but I tend to put it in the cupholder if I already sat down.

Pocket, no CA. I do wish the key had a better feel like my e90 did or like my audi does. Anyone had an older BMW and prefer the more metallic feel. I know it was plastic though.

Itchywasabi is too modest to post his own picture, but rumor has it that this is what he looks like after a wild ride in his X3.

Many say there is no such thing as a stupid question, but we must all be grateful to the OP for challenging this conventional wisdom.

This is a great idea! It's an otherwise unused space. Plenty of room. Much better than using the cup holder as I have been doing. Sometimes it's the small things that make these message board worthwhile. So thanks. PS I hate driving with keys in my pockets, or anything really, so no tears over no comfort access.

In my pocket. I haven't tested yet whether you can actually lock the vehicle while the key is inside - but rather than risk forgetting the key while hopping out for a quick run into a store or something, I know I have it with me.

I am considering having it surgically implanted though.

In my pocket but need to be careful if I have my phone in the same one. Phone sometimes affects the CA and can accidently pop the trunk. That is a real pain in the ass!

I like to take my pants off while driving. Is there a place to put them?
