Good question. How do you determine which wheels will fit? An online fitment guide shows for the X3:
PCD 5 x 120 Offset 48 Bore 72.5 or 72.6 Where can you find this data for the wheel, and are there other compatibility concerns? I love the first one in the photo above, and also the 261M, 400M, and 613M. (Somehow the 369M just doesn't thrill me.) Can you imagine buying four wheels and finding they won't fit? I bought 4 E83 wheels, that didn't fit. The wheels touched the brakes :-(
You have to be careful of wheel profile that could fowl the brakes. The 35d and 35i might need even more brakes clearance. I couldn't find an easy way to find this info. I'm told the X5 E53 will fit, but haven't tried myself. |

Needed more of this (from Wikipedia)
Caliper Clearance (X-factor): The amount of clearance built into the wheel to allow for the vehicle's disc brake and caliper assembly. List of wheels that will fit F25: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/X/X3-F25 Wonder if this is all-inclusive? This site gives you every vehicle with the same PCD and bore as the X3 http://www.wheelfitment.eu/car/BMW/X...0%2520-%2520)/ Last edited by Dnsjo; 09-07-2014 at 04:58 PM.. |

Large wheel size might fit, but you'll only know when you try. I saw a member on here with 17" E53 wheels (which look like E83 wheels!)with Winter Tyres fitted to a F25. There doesn't appear to be a recorded measurement for Caliper Clearance. http://www.nolimitmotorsport.com/bre...clearance.html |

An 8" wide wheel should have an ET in the recommended range of 42 to 45. (My 308's have an ET of 43.) A little less is probably OK. A lot less, say 30, may stress the wheel bearings.

So if you're trying to match the offset at around 47mm, and the X factor can be determined to be sufficient, it seems X6 wheels should work.
http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/X/X6-E71 Also, 3 series E36 and E46: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/3/E36 And at 43mm, 1 series F20: http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/1/F20 And at 42mm, Z4 E85, http://www.bmwstylewheels.com/Z/Z4-E85+ But I may be getting in over my head. It would be interesting to hear from someone who has seriously researched this question |

I have heard X6 won't fit because of the centre bore.

You're staying with 19's or going to 20's?

Interesting thread .. I currently have an X1 and a set of winter wheels/tyres with it. My new X3 is due sometime this winter ... so the question is .. will the 17 inch X1 wheels fit the x3
They are style 318 7.5 17 with ET 35 I appreciate that the tyres are the wrong profile buy if I can just put different size tyres on the X1 rims it would save me a lot of expense So anyone got any ideas as to whether they will fit ?

But I'm looking around as well staying with 19's for winter and prob get a better Ultra High Performance All Season or try some dedicated Winter if I can find cheap storage.

wheels
I need to get some winter wheels for my 2013 x3. I have 18 inch snows im putting on them, so it will have to be 18 inch rims. I know the offset is around 47. Can i put any 18 x 8 bmw rims (from different models) as long as the offset is in that range? Or will I have to figure brake clearance; if so, where can I find the specs on brake clearance? Thanks...
