Carly for BMW WiFi OBD 2 and Carly Pro App

Hi guys!
New here. Anyone tried this Carly scanner OBD 2 and the Carly Pro App?
First use would be in replacing my OEM battery with an aftermarket (after 5 years) and registering the aftermarket battery using the Carly Pro app.
Also, what's the best aftermarket battery can you people suggest?
X3 is 2011 F25 xDrive 28i.
Thank you!

I've been using the Carly app since my e92 with much success. The app makes coding easy and being able to read and reset obd codes is terrific as well.

I'm not 100% sure that the battery registration option is available for the F25 yet. I haven't looked recently so I'm not positive but I know it wasn't an option the last time I used the app. So double check first if that's your primary reason for getting it.

Các ứng dụng làm cho mã hóa dễ dàng và có thể đọc và đặt lại mã số obd là tuyệt vời như là tốt.

I have Carly and a coding cable and app. Carly pales in comparison. It's nice for quick, easy, simple changes, but the options are very limited in comparison to full coding capabilities.
That said, I coded 90% of what my wife wanted done in her X1 with Carly. Carly was only capable of maybe 50% of the coding I did to my X3.
As for batteries, I've always liked the Odyssey batteries. If I had to replace mine today I'd probably get a Odyssey PC1350.

Curious - what could you not code with Carly? I need to know what I'm missing :-)

I'm curious also.

I started doing some coding with Carly the other night. Kind of annoyed I have to pay extra to code out the disclaimer. Also, I've disabled all of the available light bulb voltage checks (I have LED's in most) but I'm still getting warnings about the parking lights being out. Was really hoping to stop the warnings completely, not sure what the issue is there and haven't been able to find anything on it through Google searches.

+1 on Bimmercode & Vgate

Other than taking a couple tries to get Bimmercode to connect to the Vgate, coding worked like a charm.

BTW, was in contact with the developer, who told me Expert Mode will be avail on the Android version in about two weeks.

Wow, bummer, hadn't heard of this app, and I bought Carly a few weeks ago (yet to use it). So you're saying apples to apples comparison, their app codes a lot more things than Carly can? I know full blown coding cable with software does a lot more, but I thought Carly was currently the king of the coding apps?

Am I understanding correctly that the app itself is free, so your cost is just the Vgate Adapter, which is like $20?

Thanks. Can you answer this question of mine: So you're saying apples to apples comparison, their app codes a lot more things than Carly can?

What more can it do?

Just got Bimmercode and coded most of what I want, really like that I was able to put the media info and phone info into the HUD! Havent tapped into the expert mode yet to see what else I can do that I cant do in the standard mode.

Is there a list anywhere comparing standard to expert mode for Bimmercode?

I have both Bimmercode and Carly. Carly has more coding features than Bimmercode at this time. Purchased Carly for the battery registration feature to register my new battery. Bimmercode has a better interface and quicker than Carly. I don't mind Carly being a little slower but again more features than Bimmercode. Great thing about Bimmercode is the Expertmode feature. I hope Carly can add this feature in future updates. Carly tends to provide updates every month with new features. Bimmercode provides bug fixes each month so far with no new features at this time. Both apps were more convenient than setting up my laptop/esys.

As far as replacement battery... I replaced my oem 90ah battery with Advanced Auto 110ah AGM battery for $156 with discount/coupons. It was bigger in length than the oem but easily installed by moving the battery tie down bracket to accommodate the length. I was able to registered the new battery with Carly with no problems. Hope this helps.

I use Carly on my X3. I used it on my E90 as well but the ebay adapter didn't work and had to spend the $$$ for the official one. No issues. Got rid of things like seat belt warnings and seatbelt light on dash, warning screens on I drive, play DVDs when moving, fold mirrors with key, close hatch with key, cameras on at any speed, engine start/stop defaults to "off" so it's never on unless you goto ECO mode, windows continue to work with doors open and engine off, and my all time favorite for every BMW: digital speed display on dash.

I'm sure I'm missing things.

Digital speed display on dash becomes redundant when you have a HUD...just sayin'

Got the Carly BT Adaptor2 - have used it on my X3, i3 & daughters Mini.

Really easy to use, a bit slow but thats not an issue. Done the few niggles I wanted sorting and lest then £100 total so well pleased....

Happy to help anyone local to Plymouth UK too.

Have coded mirror to auto fold on locking and added a confirmation beeb. (on X3 & i3) Also made the tailgate shut from driver door switch.
Done a few other minor ones too.

Hi. Just bought a 2012 X3. Previously had an Audi with a large digital speed display and I miss it. Understand I can get something similar albeit small digits with the BimmerCode app.
What hardware do I need (cable / adaptor)? I have iPad, android phone and windows laptop so plenty options. Also got a fleabay OBD2 WiFi jobby somewhere if that can be used ?
