Pics to follow soon. I ordered X-Line, Cold Weather, Premium Package, HK Sound, Tailgate, Auto High Beams, and maybe one or two other little things.

STRANGE: with no navigation (I find BMW Navigation almost useless - my wife's Z4 has it and it drives me bonkers with its whacked out/long routes) it seems that NO Audio Commands and only Basic Bluetooth (i.e. it will not synch with my phone book/contacts). The last one is a deal breaker if they can't fix it with a software upgrade. My Android phone works on both the Z4 (nav) and X5 (no nav) with out a problem.

Hey, the jeans part...I heard it from a BMW sales rep himself!!! as first we were also thinking of Oyster... he said that jeans are a killer for lighter colors specially Oyster and Beige... so we eventually went for black...

Yes, if you do not clean your leather every 2-3 months, order black; for those that take care of the leather like myself, the Woolite solution works great and keeps lighter colored leather looking absolutely new.

I had beige seats (beige/black interior) in my old X3 and my 135i has light gray. Over time small amounts blue dye from my jeans does come off on them, but it's quite easy to remove with Armor All cleaning wipes. I'm leaning towards Oyster myself for the new X3.

1500 miles and oyster leather looks like new, despite wife wearing dark jeans nearly every time we travel and my 2 year old sons dirty shoes

A weekly wipe with leather wipes, take about 1 minute (seems to be holding up better than my previous E60 with biege leather or perhaps Im more careful)

I decided if I go with the X3 I'm getting the Oyster...I don't care if the seats turn blue! That's the color I want!

Glad I found this thread...Wanted some feed-back on Oyster interior wear and this was perfect...

Am potentially pulling the trigger on a 28i Deep Sea Blue on Oyster this week...Negotiating pricing now

We are empty nesters, and would be hauling guests now and then - probably more often in the wifey's larger RX...

I would be hauling my two labradors more often - but they'd be in the back with the seat folded down...

I have deep sea blue with oyster and it is stunning. I keep a package of baby wipes close by to wipe up coffee spills. 2 months now and it is looking great. You will be glad you ordered that color combination.

fineline wood. The color is not white but is a light grayish/tan, exactly like an oyster. Also highly recommend the sport seats.

Yah, I did order the Sports Activity which gets the sport seat.

The comfort seats are even better - the best in fact....But not available on the 3'er

I have the Deep sea blue and Oyster combo as well and I love it. I have had my X3 for 10 months and I haven't had any issues with the Oyster leather. I just wipe the seats down every 6-8 weeks with leather cleaner.

I have the oyster leather in my 550i and I LOVE IT! I love the contrast of white and black. It's really gorgeous and I haven't found it hard to care for at all. I do condition my leather with the BMW leather treatment every three months, which seems to keep the leather super supple and scratch free.

Warning. Don't buy BMW Cotton Poly Vest seats.

Warning. Don't buy BMW Cotton Poly Vest seats.

I own BMW X3 3.5i 2014 model - white with Oyster leather sport seats. To protect them I purchased black BMW Cotton Poly Vest seats (Exactly as pictured on the BMWUSA website - Oyster seats/Black vests). Few months later, during regular car cleaning, I removed the vests and noticed that the seats have been permanently stained by the black vests. Since the vests is a genuine BMW product I have notified the dealership about the problem. The service department wasn't able to remove the stains and now BMW is going to resolve it by sending local representative to my area. Not sure what to expect - new front seats? Will learn about it in about 2 weeks. What a mess, I can't believe!

Thank you for reporting your findings. Saved me from purchasing the covers and having a similar outcome. Looks like I'm going to have to find a different solution for my Oyster leather seats.

Ours are 30 months old, cleaned bi-monthly and still look fine after 27000 miles. Been on a few ski trips and not an issue so far.

There are some people who do not realise that the surface coating of the seats is actual paint and some chemicals can attack this surface and there is a point where it is not repairable unless major rework is carried out.

Just pointing this out and this is the reason some people go for darker colours.

I transfer blue from my jeans all the time and it's a simple armor-all cleaning wipe to bring it back to spec.

OP - I have oyster. I too was worried. But I love the black footwells (no visible scuffs like beige) and I have yet to stain the seats (10k miles in).

I have Oyster in my new LCI model. 13k miles over 7 months and it looks fine. I don't wear blue jeans and I don't have young kids, but I am not particularly careful either!

I do have a big dog, but she stays in the boot which is all black carpet anyway.

I have the Burr Walnut trim which looks fantastic with Oyster. It seems to match with the piano black on the dashboard. The whole interior looks classy.

Yep it stains!

Have an X3 in the Vermillion Red with Oyster leather.

LOVE the look - especially with the black carpet and trim accents. I chose the white thinking it would be "cooler" in the summer.

I will say - it WILL stain. I didn't expect it, but I have a permanent leather color stain on the lower part of the seat back from my belt. Didn't know/expect it till too late. I have found NOTHING (Lexol included) that will get it out. Its there forever. I am more careful now! Even my dealer can't figure how to get it out!

Additionally if you wear blue jeans a lot, it will also "stain" the leather - but can be cleaned up. Ya just have to keep up with constant cleaning & conditioning.
