Wow 500$. I would have taken it. In Canada we have to take the premium and exec pkg of 6300$ to get it.

Actually, in Canada, it is part of the Premium pkg only. Not Executive.

I have had CA on two previous cars, and it is very handy indeed.

I'm on day 2 of new car, and first car with comfort access/keyless entry. Have to say I really really like the option. Two favourite features so far are head up display and keyless entry.

Hmm I'm confused, some people are saying there's a couple second delay while others are saying its instant (if you pull order it opens).

Put you hand in the handle and it opens in time so the the pull opens the door. No delay.

sweet, so you can pull the door handle as quickly as you could if it were already unlocked using the FOB?

If so I'm totally getting it!

But they told me that you can't order the prem pkg alone. You also have to get exec pkg too!

I hate to argue, and keep repaeting this, but Comfort Access is part of the Premium Pkg in Canada. Look it up on the Cdn website for verification.

And who says in Canada, you have to order Executive pkg with the Premium pkg - that is BS, you can order them totally separately. I did, I have Premium (includes CA..!!!) and not Executive.

Check before you post.

Sorry tuco44,

The Comfort Access is part of the Premium Package for 35i and Executive Package for 28i in Canada.

Just got this 28i configuration from BMW Canada's website.

I have to get the Executive Package with my 28i for the Comfort Access.

OK, gareth, I see where you are coming from and we were each coming from our own experiences - ie, you got a 28i and CA is in the Exe pkg there; but for the 35i CA is in the Premium pkg. I guess we should state which model we are talking about when we post.

I wonder why BMWCanada includes CA in different pkgs for the two models?

Why wouldn't CA be in the same pkg whether a 28i or a 35i...??

With keyless entry - you cannot lock the key in the car. The car knows the key is inside the car. I deleted this option and had a situation where key was in X3. There are stickers on the outside window for bmw assist phone number to call and get your X3 remotely opened if that ever happens.

I think that's just another way to have people move up to 35i......

That is not true.... you can get premium package alone.... what you can't get by itself is the executive package, which must be added on top of the premium package.
