One important note for when you are using ISTAD Rheingold to bleed the brakes using the DSC System:

- You'll need to leave the engine running in order to have the required voltage to operate ISTAD Rheingold ABL procedures. The other method is if you have a power supply like a Schumacher INC-700A or a CTEK MUS 25000 that has a "supply" mode.
- Make sure you apply some pressure on the brake pedal before clicking "Continue/Next" on the procedures that require you to depress the brake pedal. Otherwise, you'll get an error and have to restart the entire bleeding procedure from the beginning which may waste brake fluid.

We're bleeding my GF's F25 X3 35i with Castrol SRF in preparation for HPDE usage:

Is this the only method for bleeding brakes on this car? Or is it possible to do the 2 man procedure (1 to depress and 1 to loosen the bleeder) or possible to gravity bleed?

Nah. I did my wife's E90 a couple of years ago with a Motiv bleeder:

so I could do it by myself.

1. Suck all the fluid out of the reservoir. I like to use a battery filler from Autozone:

2. Fill up the reservoir with fresh fluid.

3. Connect Motiv bleeder to reservoir and pump it up.

4. Check to see if their is a preferred bleed order from service manual. If not then start with the farthest wheel and open the caliper into a clear tube into a clear container and watch for the dirty fluid to change to clean. Keep an eye on the reservoir and keep pumping until you've done all the calipers.
