Fuel gauge question

From day one the vehicle has NEVER registered a full tank (consistently)when filled. When I took the vehicle to the dealer, they indicated that it is within "normal limits" and has no error codes registered.

I know there can be variances in fuel filling (i.e. weather, pump, etc.) but this is my 3rd BMW. Neither of the other 2 vehicles had this happen.

Comments?

There is a TSB out for this:

I'd insist they fix it.

I also noticed that there is no reserve capacity in the tank, I get warning signals before reading goes to zero. This is correct but different experience from my other cars where zero means you are at reserve level.

my only issue with the fuel level is that it takes awhile for it to reach full tank after i fill it up..seems like a delay to show full tank.

I have had a similar experience with my April 2011 build X3 35i. Sometimes a full tank translates to about 1/16 or so under the full mark. Sometimes it goes right up to the line though. I never fill beyond the automatic stop filling and I haven't paid attention to see if different gas stations correlate to different fill levels (or how much gas is in the tank). It really boils down to I have noticed the "problem" but it hasn't really bothered me or detracted from the perceived value of the car.

It looks like "Petrol Only" having problems!, could high delivery petrol pump problems., it may need a minute or too to settle and then add the last few litres.
Just a thought.

Took my car in for the first service and mentioned this issue. They said the sensor was faulty and are replacing it.
