Garage List
Most plastic covers pull off once the oil cap is removed.

Do you want it off to fit a chip?

It also appears that the 35D has an additional sheet-metal top cover (#4) and an additional plastic rear cover (#6) under the plastic "acoustic cover" (#1) that is visible. The numbers in circles represent the type of fastener used - see lower fastener drawing.

The diagram also lists the set of miscellaneous fasteners (set 250444) that are use in the area (see lower drawing below).

Hope this helps.
Great response again Lotus7, many thanks J

On the 2.0 Diesel I needed to remove the air intake pipe about midway - 2 clips. As the part you want to remove houses the air filter element. I also had to disconnect the hose running from above air filter to the turbo - nasty little clamp down there - this of course may be needed twice in case of 3.5D - if turbo's are far apart? I also had to disconnect the air flow mass meter. Also there were some cables at the back of the housing and against the 1'st mentioned air intake pipe that had to be unclipped. Some of the clips are a "tight squeeze" - if for chipping - first check on those wires how the plugs/clips work. If you have the 3-lead chip - the firewall connection is the most awkward one to do. If for this purpose broad daylight preferred method of illumination.

Many thanks for the "Heads up", this will not be a "quick removal" if required by the looks of things, I may just leave well alone.
