Finally finished my E83 Xenon retrofit.

It makes a huge difference as I can now see where I am going.

Quite a bit of work is involved and not a cheap process but worth it in the end:

Approx:

£700 Light units
£150 Genuine BMW ballasts
£100 Osrsam D1s bulbs
£20 Angel eye LED bulbs
£20 Cabling and Connectors


As you can see I could have saved £150ish if I had bought cheaper bulbs/ballasts.

Yes.

It isn't that difficult to remove the bumpers on X3's. I fitted a detachable towbar last year.
The most difficult part is the effort required to pull the bumpers away, it isn't natural to pull that hard on plastic but nothing was broken doing either jobs.

I am interested in doing this for my wifes x3. How does the wiring work? Does wiring need to be altered in order for them to plug in to the wire harness?

It seems to me that you installed the e83 X3 LCI front headlights to e83 X3 non LCI? Is that correct?
