X3 M sport colour and high gloss shadowline
I am pretty sure that I will be settling for an X3 M carbon black. I need help on deciding on whether to stick with the black high gloss roof rails that come standard with the M pack or change to the aluminum look. Also should I stick with the black high gloss shadow line windows or aluminum look similar to the X line look. Thoughts greatly appreciated. Car goes into production in April and have done my head in with the config. Thanks

I'd definetely stick with high gloss black. After all, that's what sets the M-Sport apart from the rest of the crowd. There'll be way too many black w/ X-line out there come summer...

That's exactly my thinking. And as carbon black is only available with M why not get it. I actually also like the "pearl" look with the dark navy coming through. Wife also agrees! Thanks for the confirmation

Word of warning on the shadow line trim; it get massive swirl marks. The trim looks great for a while, but after you have washed it a few times it starts to look pretty rough. And polishing it out is neigh on impossible.

I'm planning to order M-sport Carbon Black with Aluminum window trim and roof rails. It is very un-msport like, but people who know these things can tell right the way...
I like most of the features from the M-sport package, but black high gloss window trim and black roof rails are too "stealth" for me, especially with Carbon Black. Not to mention tinted windows too. It is hard to see the design of the car during rainy days and winter months, and there are plenty of that where I live. I have also got my dealer to fit the kidney grills in Aluminum for a 2.0D model. |
