Check your rear seat heater button - mine is defective
FYI for people who have just received your cars. If you're like me, you might only seldom have people in your rear seats who use the heater. My mom tried to push the button last weekend and the entire button pushed into the rear center console. You can put your whole finger in the whole that is left. It's probably a quick and simple fix, but I was a little embarassed to have this happen as I'm showing off the features of my new $50,000+ BMW to my parents. I'm getting it fixed tomorrow so I'll let you know how it goes.

Just found out last week that my rear heated seats didn't work at all. Had friends riding in back seat for first time. Dealer had to order part from Germany. Will know more once I see service record.
Driving a very nice 335i while my X3 is out. |

I'm going to to be sure to push every button, knob and gadget on that X3 when I pick it up! I'll make the dealer crazy

Getting this fixed as I type this at the dealership. Even though I scheduled the appointment with this issue in the schedule, they said they didn't have the part in stock. I kindly reminded them that they have 2 cars on the lot with the same switch and that I would appreciate not having to drive back out here to get this fixed another time. They agreed with my idea and they're working on it now.
I'm also getting mud flaps installed and picking up the other items from my $500 certificate: rubber mats and roof cross rails. |

Defective Rear Seat Heater Button
Quote:
Thanks to this post I decided to try a quick DIY and pooped everything back in place nicely. It was a easy and simple fix, but something I didn't expect in my new vehicle. I sent a email to my CA describing the defect and the corrections made just in case some recall notice is prescribed in the future. |

Hope it works out with the buttons (pun?). I gotta check mine. Sounds like a lot of folks are experiencing it. What a pain.
