Water and the tailgate

Whether I park on my drive or a road, flat or cambered, opening the boot after rain seems to result in a stream of water, always at the right side, cascading down. Depending on the volume, this sometimes stops before the boot is open enough for the drop to be I to the interior, but of the car is very wet I try to stop the tailgate have way up to let it drain. Anyone else noticed this? Seems to come from the right hand side top of the tailgate. Otherwise the car appear waterproof.

I don't get that, but I get drops on across the cargo cover or on whatever's in the back when the cargo cover is open.

For me water always sits in the gap between the bottom of the rear windscreen and bodywork. This might be what you are talking about.

Whenever I open the boot water streams out to both sides. I have to hold the boot open half way to allow it to do this otherwise everything inside gets wet.

Poor design.

Thanks all. At least it is not just my car. Clearly water is pooling somewhere and any slight tilt on the car directs the flow. Poor design indeed. Another lovely sunny day again here in the Scottish fresh air, so not an issue today!
