Based on various pictures I've seen so far, it looks like they are blanked off with black plastic with no real purpose.

I have not seen a 2015 X3 M sport in person, so maybe someone who took delivery on one can speak up for sure. But I did see an X5 M sport and they did appear to be just blanked off with no real purpose. Did not examine them that closely though to be sure.

I just ordered a 2015 X3 M Sport on Friday (May 30). Prior to order, dealer said the estimated time for build & PCD would be 6 weeks. After reading this thread I am very happy. I was given a production number the day I ordered. The sales associate emailed me today stating he had sent the Performance Center a request for delivery & "will hear something back in the next few days". How do I know when production starts?

If you have the production number you can just cal the 1-800 number of the BMW Genius number )on the website).
2 weeks left for PCD for me, can't wait. |

LOL Well, I have to say in a odd way, I'm kind of enjoying the anticipation. I've got one particularly crappy thing going on in my life right now, and this is providing me with some light at the end of the tunnel, so to speak (and something else to think about). Plus..in this day and age, you never really have to wait too long for anything so it's nice to have some good ol excitement building up for the big day!
Of course, had I known that the build was going to be this quick we would have blocked out the first 2 weeks of June rather than the last 2 weeks. But hey...as they say, first world problems. Enjoy the wait! |

speaking of anticipation, I have been following the build progress of my M-sport, production completed last week. On Monday I called BMW Genius and they said it would be on a truck monday with a dealership ETA of Wednesday. I've been calling my dealer daily and it looks like it won't be here till Monday. Sucks because I was hoping to get it before a road trip we are taking tomorrow but now we will have to take our old car and won't be able to pickup the X3 until NEXT Monday. Boooooo

But more interesting is the piece of M50d trim that visually breaks up the intake area. Wonder if they'll offer something similar for the X3. |

T-Minus 47 hours! Heading up to Boston tonight to fly down early Wed AM. It's been a long wait, I'm ready to see her! I'll upload plenty of pics.

Well, we're back from the PCD. Unbelievable experience...you all need to try it. BMW really does an outstanding job. I'm going to write a more detailed review on Bimmerfest.
As to the car...WOW. It's even better than I had anticipated. Drove the 1000 miles home the last few days with no issue. The adaptive suspension really is great...I would say the most important option on the car. It really makes it for me. And the HUD, which I know some people dismiss as gimmicky...I think is very useful. I always have my eyes on the road...really a great safety device. So, I know you guys really want to see the pics...so. I tried to attach but files are too big, so I'll try to attach link to Flikr. https://www.flickr.com/photos/joswha...7644897179598/ |

Thanks for the great set of photos. You've got just what I've ordered, a white X3 MSport 2.0 litre diesel with the adaptive suspension. I've gone for the beige leather but very much like the look of yours too. My only difficulty is having to wait until September if I'm lucky to take delivery!
Be interested to read your detailed review on Bimmerfest - please let us know when it's there. |

I got the 19" Goodyears. As to wanting the 20". I personally like the look of the 19" alloys and I also live in a city where potholes procreate. So, 20" not really an option...LOL. Plus I wanted the all seasons.
