Anyone want to trade their Fineline Wavewood Trim for my Fineline Sienna Wood Trim?

My CA screwed up my order and ordered the wrong trim. Would anyone want to trade? The car has already gone into production so she said she can't change it.

Sard, I would not take delivery of it and would make them order you another one. If you won't have a vehicle to drive while you wait for the second one, I would tell them you want a loaner. My dealer screwed up my X3 order and it came in without premium sound. They let me keep the incorrect one to drive as a loaner for 7 weeks while I waited for the second one to be built. Go above you CA to the sales manager or general manager and don't back down on this!!

She said she'll order another one, but I don't want to wait. I don't really want to make too much trouble for her at the same time .. Is it really that impossible to change such a small item such as the trim after it goes into production? I believe it just went into production today or yesterday.

Why doesn't your dealership replace it when it arrives?

Once it goes into production, no changes can be made. The dealer could switch out the trim once the vehicle arrives though. If you don't mind them taking apart the doors to do it, that is an option (at their expense of course!).

Let us know how it all works out.

The doors have to be taken apart? They don't just snap right off?

Someone else had to have the trim changed out and I remember reading that is actually screwed in from the back side of the door.

Yes, the door interior panel will need to be removed

No, the door panels do not simply snap out.

I have personal experience with this as I traded out my Sienna trim for the darker wavewood. (and will put the Sienna pieces up on eBay some day)

The door trim pieces are screwed in from the inside of the interior door panel, as well as having spring clips.

The dash piece above the glove box does just pop out

The transmission piece also pops out, but you have to carefully remove/replace the Idrive and swiches to the left of the stick.

Ok cool. She was able to find a vehicle still in the 112 production status and modified it to how I wanted it. Delay is only a week. I'm not sure how she grabbed this other car, but it'll be worth waiting an extra week. Thanks for the feedback guys.
