Newbie - Just ordered 35i m-sport. Need wheel advise
Hey everyone. I just ordered a deep sea blue 35i m-sport loaded with everything. Tech, DHP, the whole 9. I have been doing some research on wheels and I really like the attached m5 replica. I do a lot of snowboarding in VT in the winter so I can use the stock 19's for winter wheels. I have a few questions so if you don't mind please help a first time BMW owner - don't hate, I drive a Q7 s-line right now, god I love that car but warranty is almost up. I hope I enjoy the BMW as much as I did the audi. This will be my first "new" car ever so Im pumped. Now my questions
1. DHP will not effect snow driving will it? Assuming I have blizzaks on there. 2. As far as the wheels, would you go 19's or 20's? I think the 20's look better but I would have to run a 275 rear tire. Will this impact comfort a lot? If he was able to square the set a 4 x 20 by 8.5in would you do that rather then the 10in rear? I do have plans to get the JB stage 1 tune and Dinan stage 2 once its out. But my concern is that I drive a lot, 20k a year and I do want some comfort. I am buying this because I also want a little more fun when my lab isn't in the car so I think it will be a good jack of all trades car for me. Please let me know if Im mistaken. Thanks V |

Good luck with your new X3... Can't help much on wheels but its is our first 4*4 and winter tyres and we found it amazingly good to drive in snow when we went to Austria this year. Was very confident and handled it well.
It is a fun car to drive thats for sure, so good luck.

If you get the M-Sport you get what's called "Performance Control" which does send more power by default to the rear wheels. If/when it senses slip it will send just as much forward though, so I don't think it will be a problem.
