Does the Transmission have a brain of its own?
OK, I've read in a few different threads that our X3's transmissions can learn how we drive.
I've found no reference of that in the manual. Can anyone confirm including reference? Last edited by lbjgh; 05-01-2012 at 06:46 PM.. |

I must confuse My ATM
So if it adapts to my style what happens if I have more than on style. One when I have the 16 year old lab trying to balance in the back and one when I'm alone and getting there fast. I suppose it adapts and then re-adapts.

It does readapt. But there was a "trick" with the 6 gear gearbox I had in my E91, this might work also with the F25.
If you switch on the car (without switching on the engine!!!) press the accelerator until you hear the click of the switch, keep it pressed for 30 seconds. Then switch on the engine normally, the parameters should have been set to the default values as if the car just came from the factory. |

BMW autos have been doing this for years and how it all works is well documented and understood. HighlandPete |
