2013 X3 Transmission malfunction error
I was being picked up by my friend in his 13 X3 he just got a few weeks ago, traded his Nissan Juke for it.
As we are driving back to work, his X3 starts to beep and shake. the dash read "Transmission malfunction" and the car died. He was able to pull over to the side and park. After three attempts to start the car. He states his gas light came on that morning and he hadn't fueled up. Stating that his old Nissan could drive three days after the gas light came on. Well, I just bought a Gas tank, added 3 gallons to the car and it fired up no problem. My question, Would an empty gas tank cause a transmission error to pop up? thanks! |

What kind of fool keeps driving after the gas light comes on, especially for 3 days, lol. He deserves to be stranded on the side of the road. Also, it is possible for running out of fuel to cause the drivetrain malfunction to come on which is likely what he saw.
