Led sidelights on halogen housing

Has anyone used led w5w bulbs on halogen housing? Any recommendations would be appreciated. I have a 2014 X3 with halogen lights (without DRL), just wanted to try LED bulbs for my sidelights and use them as DRL.

Yes and many have swapped to leds. But you need to code for leds and disable voltage monitoring (cold and warm checks) else you'll get hyper-flashing, flickering, and dash warning.

Thanks! Do you have any recommended led bulbs? I heard there are some canbus led bulbs, do they really work?
Also, I have used Philips white vision h7 bulbs as my dipped and main, would it look too strange when all lights are on?

You can use jdm astar led bulbs 3030 smd led for front and rear turn signals. Same brand for brake light bulbs. Another brand are ibrightstars from Amazon site. But I found jdm astar brighter. I can't recommend headlight or tails since I have hids as standard on 35i. As for fogs standard h8 leds work.

Thanks for the recommendation! Both of them require $10 or more for shipping to the UK unfortunately. Anyone in the UK has converted their ugly halogen sidelights to led bulbs? I'm looking for the w5w bulbs

Why don't you get the w5w LEDs from your own turf "powerbulbs.com"

I've found these Philips ones, but they look like they're not canbus friendly. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-127.../dp/B00OYT11RE

I've got bimmercode app, would coding out the warm and cold check, and set Led active be enough to make them work perfectly?

Or do I need the resistors to hang around in the housing?

Many thanks!

Yes. No need to add resistors or canbus. Canbus bulbs are not 100% error free, therefore disabling voltage checks will eliminate dash errors.

Any idea which coding lines I would need to change? I've contacted the bimmercode Dev but he's not quite sure which coding lines represent those sidelights as every car model seems different.

Does anyone have the reference chart for all the lighting codes to disable warnings? I have struggled to find it for f25.

If you're looking for coding the sidelights, I've coded the ones with POL, and they worked without any warnings on the dashboard.

Thank you for the response. I'm specifically looking for the headlight low beams. There are usually charts somewhere with the codes/warnings.
