Difference between 6NH and 6NK Bluetooth options

I'm finding it hard to establish the real difference between these two, the current price list suggests that 6NK is the same as 6NH but with voice control added. The car configurator says 6NH is 'Bluetooth Handsfree' and 6NK is 'Bluetooth Connectivity'. The original 6NL no longer appears on the price list or configurator.

Dealer says 6NH doesn't come with the option to add a Snap in adaptor.

Confused? I am... anyone got any more evidence / ideas?

The bluetooth options are very confusing but I think 6NH only gives you audio streaming via bluetooth whereas 6NK gives you a cradle that boosts the phone's signal through the car's aerial and charges the phone. Check with rd450. He has the 6NH

Thanks for asking this question ... wondering about the same thing myself.

In my situation I have no choice, Navigation Professional (609) can only be paired with 6NK.

The only difference I am aware of is voice control, and possibility for snap-in cradle in arm rest. (cradle sold separately I think)

Does anyone know if the 6NK can be added retrospectively?

It probably can be retrofitted but it won't be an easy job IMO: wiring for the cradle from the armrest to the CIC head unit is tricky and I assume it will need some coding for the new configuration which is not something you can do unless you are an expert. This assumes you have 6NH and the microphones already installed. I would contact a local in-car entertainment specialist that has done work on BMWs. I don't think it will be like an accessory that you can just plug in and probably not worth the hassle if you already have 6NH
