Got my VIN!
From the VIN decoder (http://www.bmwvin.com/), it says production date is 2016-04-10, does that mean it started on that date or that it was finished on that date? Also, I though you could track the build process from the Owner page, but there is no build tracking system on the BMW Canada that I could find. |

BMW Genius is your best help or your Advisor (in my case both were helpful)

I posted this on another thread. My dealer could check everything except the train ride. He didn't know about how to get that status until I told him where to call. You will still need someone from the dealership to give you the train info. Before / during production you can call BMW Canada and using either your VIN or production number, they will tell you the status. Once it has been released from the factory, I had to ask my salesman for the train ID and car # Then you can call at : *800-235-2352 say location, then train ID : TTGX (or whatever yours is) Car # : 691108 (or whatever yours is) If it has trouble recognizing what you say, and it tries to transfer you to a human being, hang up. I don't think this service is for indirect customers like us... wouldn't want it to stop working or for them to ask for credentials. You can use the keys from your phone to enter the codes to make your life easier. The system will give you the last city the train checked in at or left from. Once it made it to montreal, I used the site lhf.com and with your VIN, you can track it from there to the dealership. Hope this helps. GG |

Last update I got from dealer is Location Status 182 (apparently means Schedule for Carrier) and Estimated Arrival Date is April 30th.
I'm actually fine with getting it later, I have to leave the car with my auto detailing guy from May 16th to 18th... The wait... |

See if you can get the bill of lading # from your dealer, or a train ID #.. something like TTGX1234567 (4 letters, 6 numbers), then you can do more detailed tracking yourself.

Was unable to get anything from the dealer, but today, I checked my vin on https://www.lhf.com/tracking and it shows that it is transiting from Montreal to Ottawa, arriving on the 9th!

I also didn't take many pictures at the dealer because I asked the dealer not to clean it (as per detailer's instructions) and it still had some shipping wrappings, but as I had mentioned, I got the carbon fiber trim installed and mirror caps in CF as well. Here's a taste of what it looks like: Not the best pictures, I will definitely post more when I get the car back near the end of the week! |

Finally got my car back from the detailer. Extremely happy with the job that Vlad did at Upper Class Detailing. Would highly recommend if you are in the Ottawa area. I got the full hood wrapped in SunTek. Headlights, fogs, bumper, mirror caps, rocker panel, trunk luggage area, door handle cups and rear wheel debris impact area in XPEL, light color correction, polish, C.Quartz entire car, added 50% tint front windows (couldn't add more due to laws). Overally extremely happy! The beast is awesome, a head turner when I pass by people.
I'll post some interior shots later to show off the carbon fiber trim, pretty short on time right now due to long week-end, road-trip it is! Last edited by elimpfor; 05-21-2016 at 08:14 AM.. |
