Nice, i cannot stand the oem chrome grill myself.. bmw should come to know by now that M sport package should come with a black gloss grille lol.... I just ordered mine on ebay, not sure how good it will fit oem tho as they aren't making any promises, Hey DrKev, how much did you pay for yours if you dont mind.

At long last managed to fit new kidney grilles, followed every bit of information given, which was a great help, just had to take time and be patient, very pleased with result. Have some spare gloss carbon vinyl going to try and wrap chrome on old grilles, just to see, will post pics if successful.

My wife decided the black grilles on a dark car was too aggressive for her. We compromised by putting the black grilles from the M Performance ones into the stock chrome grille frames. She loves it now.

Dr KevM5. Aggresive look is exactly what I wanted, but now I know I can swap grilles over when mood changes. Have actually wrapped one of my chrome surrounds in carbon vinyl just to see if had patience. looks fine, just another option. Glad boss loves chrome though.

On my LBB car I think the OEM looks better than the gloss black. Just like they look better on my M Roadster.

Damn was trying to install a set of black grills today, everything was a piece of cake until I tried to push those clips in that enables the grill to pop out... Those clips are hards as a XXXXX XXXXXX loolll, i gave up, any harder i went am gonna break something.. Just gonna drop some cash for labor at my shop.

ahfa 1987. feel for you pal, patience is the key, I had same problems, have you tried using one of the plastic trim removal tools, I broke one clip when removing mine, the first grille is the hardest, 2nd one is simpler as you have easy access, but I was still able to put it back in, even if you break more, not a problem as you are fitting new grilles. PATIENCE key word
