Update on my Nav Screen problems

The Car went back to the dealer on Monday, just after a week on the road. The screen is constantly going bright red, flickering or going blank completly. As suspected when in the dealers they could not get the screen to fail, luckily my wife had video'd the problem.

They have never come across this problem and it is not on the list of suspects, so I didn't expect them to be able to tell me what the issue was. The concensus at BMW was faulty screen, so they have ordered one for me, which will take a week. I don't know how the screen is fitted I'm just keeping my fingers crossed its not a dash removale. Below are a couple of pictures taken yesterday, 20 minutes after leaving the dealers, sods law. The screen goes red, then blank. It comes back to life when it wants then, usually after a couple of minutes. Hopefully it is the screen and not some electronic problem that could taken a month of sundays to resolve.

I'm not sure the South Wales Constabulary would buy the excuse. Sorry officer my screen was bright red is indicating that the Devil had his foot on the right pedal and was the reason I was speeding in excess of 100MPH. However if the dealer doesn’t sort this out ASAP I will be seeing red.

Agreed. Good luck sorting this out Pugger. We've enjoyed the demon jokes but on a serious note I would imagine this is particularly hard to swallow given that pro nav is a £2,500GBP ($4,000USD) option

Yeah, I think thats the problem I paid a lot of money for it and its faulty, Further i'm 99% sure they havn't got a clue whats causing it which is a bigger worry.
I'm of the opinion that just changing the screen won't solve the problem, it works perfectly well for days on end then goes berserk for days.
I also hope they don't need to mess with a dash removal to fit the new one, theres no way it will be the same again if this is the case.

It's a case of waiting and keeping my fingers crossed.
