I test drove a brand new X3 and it had the new iDrive. According to the CA, if you do a build now, you get the new one.

[EDIT] I looked at some articles online and I am not sure the CA was right. What I drove did not have the iTouch controller and there were no 3D maps.

Personally, I didn't care for it. Many many menus and it was clunky to get back to the Navigation screen. It always went to split screen. The CA couldn't figure out how to get it to go back to full screen Navi without touching the controller.

Picking mine up next week...can't imagine it will come with the new iDrive. Are you saying you test drove one at the dealer, a 2013, and it had the new system?

The CA said it was. But I am now beginning to think it wasn't. It definitely did not have the new iTouch controller that lets you draw on it.

I hope not what this thread indicates, which is a delay for the F30, don'tīt push the new software/hardware update for the X3, beyond the planned april release and thus also delaying my X3 order.
