Question Satellite Radio Steering Wheel Control Question

Whenever I try to scroll through my favorite stations using the scroll button on the right in my X3, I get all of the stations, not my favorites, at least until I press the "Radio" button on the iDrive. Then my favorites load up in the scroll window. In my GT and my 5 series, they both have the favorites load up right away when I scroll, is there anyway to set that as a default? I can't find it anywhere and it's annoying to have use iDrive for a simple command like that.

Seems to work fine in my other two cars, anyone know how to fix ?

I have the same issue, although it only happens when I switch back and forth with my iphone. To switch to my presets, I just use the voice command "presets".

OP, are you talking presets or SAT radio favorites? Presets works for me. Although there was a short time after a service that it didn't, and then it came back. I couldn't figure anything I'd done that might have caused it to start working again.

Im talking about presets, it always defaults in that little scroll menu to ALL the stations, and in my other cars, it does go to my presets in the scroll menu (in the cluster). I wonder if there is a setting where the default scroll menu can be changed

I was more or less finding the same conclusion, but maybe (maybe) it works. Select radio with iDrive and choose the pre-sets list.

When you're done, go to whichever function you like and then by scrolling the wheel on the driving wheel it should go through the pre-sets and not through all stations.

Yes, I find I have to do that every time, my question was whether or not that can be set as a default so that I don't have to press radio and then presets every time. In my other cars, I do not have to do that.

(bump) Sorry, newbie here. Some background: we're looking at getting an X3. In other cars we've owned, I've been able to select different presets by pressing a button (up/down) or scroll wheel (click up/click down) on the steering wheel, and the radio immediately changes to the next preset.

It appears in the X3 that the scroll wheel on the steering wheel scrolls through a display of presets, and to actually change the radio to the next preset, you then have to select it. If that makes sense. So, it's a two-part process: scroll/select.

Is there any option so that when you scroll to the next preset on the steering wheel, it *automatically* selects it?

Thanks!

The function of the scroll wheel is dependent upon what the last radio select mode was done on the i-drive (preset or tune).

In the radio there is the station select (first menu item that lists all available stations), under it is the preset select where you can select your presets.

If you want to see your presets all the time, go into radio > preset menu item. The scroll wheel on the steering wheel always handles presets now. Until you go into the radio and change off of that, you will always get your presets.

I have my first "soft key" preset #1 as the radio preset menu. then I can hit that and quickly get to my presets and the scroll wheel then moves to the preset list if I am in satellite or regular radio.
