I seem to have symbols and road greying on my system. At one point yesterday it said recalculating route due to traffic. Presume this could not be RTTI on a July build?

Maybe but I think this may be wishful thinking I get some symbols (e.g. road works, incident) and mine also says recalculating route due to traffic sometimes.

I think you would have to see the colour coding which shows how fast traffic is moving and gets updated every 3 mins. Unless you see this too?

I think this screen is what to look for

and specifically the route alternative alternative +5 mins / -3 mins. I'm pretty sure I don't see this.

This is all conjecture on my part, if you think you definitely do have RTTI now, I would like to know!

Advanced RTTI is going into production for now (Sept 2011) but clarence (who has provided some very useful information on this forum too - thanks clarence) thinks it's hardware as well as software, perhaps a new combox. See this link where it's discussed on an F10 forum

http://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=570342

Delaying my update may be wishful thinking....

Software was updated today. I think I'm now on a July update but I didn't get the updated version number from them. May ask for it tomorrow although it seems a closely guarded secret

The software update support for external devices now shows

MX-003.004.031
TX-003.004.031

up from 002.005.021 previously and now the same as X3BuyerScotland who has 6NR (more on this to follow )

I didn't check the nav version before and I assume it's the same at

101094.0.19

If anyone has an X3 built early this year and can confirm their pro nav version for comparison then we'll know for sure.

The main menu looks different but I can't tell for sure and BMWConnectedDrive now has Applications which I hadn't noticed before.

Also, has Traffic Flow always been there and I've never noticed it?

I can confirm i still have the annoying bug when the arrow stays on the dash after you reach your destination (not surprised by this) and also that you lose all of your messages and favourites during an upgrade so you should export them first.

Sfax - looking at your image above I have image 1 but cannot find 2 or 3 anywhere. Can you confirm the menu you use to get to these?

We're having some menu communication problems here on two separate threads

OK, image 2

go to nav and then click the warning icon and scroll through them until you find a congestion warning (try London!), then click OK on the warning for more details. This is the "more details" screen

Image 3

when on nav, click right and then I think it's settings. If it's not called settings it's on this navigation menu somewhere, try scrolling down - don't have the X3 with me as in London now

Can you see if you have the same nav version as me as well please (101094.0.19)? Cheers

I think they'll give you the most up to date iDrive software at the point the car goes into production. I know there was a release in July this year so you'll definitely get that one

Sfax, I can confirm my ' external devices' versions match yours. My car went into production end of June (week26)
I haven't checked the Nav version, I'll check later.

Oh I meant to say/ask - under the menu where it displays the external devices menu, it has an option to update the software, which gives sub-options to update either via BMW online or via USB. It says no update available at the moment.
Anyone know if this updates all the idrive software or just the external devices software or what does it encompass ?

Cheers marmite. I think this external device version is from April 2011 for 6NR compatibility (you need some hardware too but this gets iDrive ready for it).

Re. updating, I assume this is with a view to rolling critical updates without everyone having to take their cars into the dealer. I'm not sure how this would work in practice as the update I have just had seems to entail reinstalling the O/S. Would be nice if we could report bugs and then a month later, get the fix downloaded via this function. Dream on!

I think it's only pro nav because I think you need the BMW Assist subscription to get the live data. It may be business nav as well and I could check if the BMW website online configurator didn't crash my browser every time I tried to use it! It's been like that for nearly a year. Woeful.

I have business nav and get the live traffic data and alternative route options. I too assumed this was via my Assist subscription.

Sfax re the applications page this has also appeared on my BMW online page (with 2 new apps "Qype" and "Wiki-local") so thus must be a central system update.

I don't understand why RTTI cannot be added to models with a software update, I cannot believe its a hardware module

We dont know for sure that it is but clarence speculated it will be hardware because of the different way the data is collected. May have to wait and see

I brought my car in about 6 weeks ago to have them check for a few rattles. They didn't say anything, but I noticed that my backup camera view was closer up so suspected that there had been an update. I haven't noticed anything else different.

Current versions are MX-003.004.031, TX-003.004.031 and navigation 112093.2.19.

Are these the latest versions?
