I am petitioning BMW Australia for the 35d. That is my ECU remap plan lol. Failing that, I'm keeping a keen eye on the big names to come up with something.

I can see where this is heading. Steve will end up with a fully loaded car and he will have to lie through his teeth to his lovely wife. Lol

Hahaha I am already hoping she doesn't notice the couple of extras I added after "we" agreed on the spec... Pro Nav, Xenon's, Lights Package, etc...

It has been a long few months waiting, only 5 weeks to go... *sigh*

Yeah, love the HUD and it is not on her spec list and one she will notice. Also one of those that I can live without - for now .

I actually for once prefer the rugged look of the non-sport. It is also another one that my wife will notice .

Yes, Adela picked that - and it looks great!

Lol, she is already getting her trade-in a few thousand less, and Hi-fi Prof comes standard on the 30d.

I think he meant that he told his wife that it's standard. Either that or a whole lot of us got ripped off lol.

So I have found out that there is in fact something worse than the waiting. I called my lease company yesterday and asked them to confirm that my 20d will still be ready for pickup on August 30th. My account manager rang the dealer and called me back to tell me there was a slight problem with my order.

The car has been delivered early. It landed in Melbourne on July 22 and is currently sitting at the dealership.

I can't get it until August 30 still as per the terms of my lease. I have to wait 4 more weeks and it is just around the corner behind lock and key. I am going to ask if I can go visit it occasionally whilst I wait.

Your right - that must be worse than waiting. No doubt your dealer can arrange "visiting times" for you and your X3. But remember - no holding hands!!!

I had some good news yesterday. We should have our 30d by the 3rd/4th week in August. Wasn't expecting it until September. Considering the order was only placed in mid-May, three and a bit months isn't a bad delivery time.

I'm still hoping for that 35d but I don't think it will happen. Either way, I'm giving it until September because that's when the new model comes out

Did the dealer forget to that X5 and X3 takes only 2 months from built? Anyway, it is not long to go now .

Nice spec Steve!!
The September spec change is that the 25i is gone - but most like it would be replaced with the n20 I assume as the 520i is coming with the n20.

As always, I love my options .

Hi everyone,

I'm after a bit of advice.

I ordered a X3 20d first week in May and was told expect delivery in August. A month ago I was told September. Today I received a letter saying End of October. Am I been taken for a ride and had my production slot given to someone else?

Getting tense and thinking about a Q3 it can be here at end of September. Love the x3 but also test drove the q3 and it was pretty good as well. One more delay and I might. The dealer won't care because I am sure he could sell my speck to someone else.

Yeah. My August build september delivery is now a week 38 septemer build, which pushes it to a NOvember delivery.
I have another car - I'll wait.

Starting to ask questions now about what will be different as it should be a MY12 model with a week 38 build. Might get a price or spec change. No real chance of a 35d though. The sales manager said they never imported the 35d for the last X3 and are highly unlikely to steal sales from the X5 by doing it this time.

Its either that or dump it and go for a Cayanne TD which is $40k more for the same spec, and slightly slower.
I'll wait.
If they bugger around too much there is always the new ML merc - their engines seem to have jumped forwards to the 21st century - finally.
