Alpineweiss 35i M Sport - New owner!

Hello X3 Forum

Just picked up an X3 today! Pretty excited since the car seems awesome so far. I read plenty of reviews and determined the X3 was the best mid size SUV on the market. (plus I am BMW biased...)

Replaced a 2009 BMW 328i M Sport in LeMans Blue that was totaled recently. A Suburban decided that looking ahead was unnecessary and smashed the rear of the poor 328i.

Finding the right car was difficult! We were pressed on time, since the old car was in the junk yard and the rental expired today! The criteria was White on Black, M-Sport, Heated Seats, and that's it.

We found one in California at a Carmax, called this morning to have it shipped, already sold. Luckily we kept searching and found another, in Georgia! It is now in the driveway (until I can fit it inside with my M3 )

Pretty well optioned

I love the look of the M Sport!

Congrats on the new car and sorry to hear about the accident but sounds like everyone is ok? Sent you a PM regarding the trim.

Thanks for the nice comments. This will be my girlfriends daily and she is in love.
Luckily no serious injury from the accident, although moving into an X3 was partially for increased visibility and safety.

More Pics!

Here it is tucked into the garage with her older brother

And some non-dealer shots.

Wow congrats! When you buy from carmax, how do you know if the car doesn't come w/ any small dents or scratches?

Thanks!
If you pay carmax to transfer a car, you are not obligated to buy the vehicle once it arrives. You will not be refunded the transfer fee regardless.
(I ended up buying from another party though.)

I just have to say, the moon roof is SO ANNOYING! I put felt strips across where the movable part rests against the frame but it only works in warm weather. What a crap design!
Glad this thing is under warranty, this must be fixed.

(I tried putting a small bumper on the plastic hinged part under the glass but the adhesive is not strong enough, it slips when using the roof)

If your still under warranty bring it to a local dealer for repair of the creaking sunroof. I had the same issue on my 2013. Its a known issue and they seem to have a pretty good method of resolving the creaking.

I like the aluminum trim in yours, it goes well with the dark seats. I have the lighter beige colored seats and aluminum trim on my 2015 and I'm still on the fence as whether or not I like it.

I really like the aluminium trim, have it in my Mineral Silver 2012.

With mine, I think the normal (non M-Sport) sports steering wheel's silver trim compliments it really well.

I have to admit that the sports seats really do look a lot nicer, the stitching particularly.
