Thanks. I just called the local dealer and the part came up but will require 1 month to arrive.

They quoted me $60/pop. Did anyone pay more or less?

That sounds fairly reasonable. I paid roughly $90CAD each.

I ordered them from my dealership a couple of weeks ago. I was quoted $50 each.

Installation problem

i ordered these exact exhaust tips for my 2011 X3 28i but I am having trouble installing them. I am only able to push the tips onto the pipes as far as the bottom clip which stops the tip from being pushed on the rest of the way. As a result, the tips are only 80% inserted and the bottom clip is visibly protruding. What's the technique to insert them all the way? Should I use a spanner to flatten the bottom clip? I would really appreciate any advise.

A rubber mallet and a bit of grease should do the trick.

A rubber mallet is the way forward!

A couple of palm strikes did the trick for me but it was tight

Here's a stainless steel alternative. for $65USD (for both tips) plus shipping. I have no experience with them, but I am giving it some thought.

Go for genuine OEM for best fit and longevity

I agree for most items, but there have been times when an aftermarket part has been better than the BMW OEM part. I bought an aftermarket front windshield sun/heat screen that is less expensive and superior to the BMW version. I am also looking forward to the Weathertech cargo area protector, as the current BMW cargo protector (with the thin rear bumper protector), does not fit right and covers only half the storage bin on the right.

Now about these chrome exhaust tips.... Looks like the aftermarket version is stainless steel and is tightened with a screw (Hmmmmm..). The chrome BMW version looks like it just fits tightly and requires a good whack with a mallet to pop it on.

I don't like the "tightened with a screw" statement, as it could be a one size fits all, universal part.

I think I'll see what the lead time is for the BMW parts.

Why do we have to pay more than twice the US customers are paying for this part?

.
The OEM tips installed on my 35i are actually made of highly polished stainless steel, not chrome plated plain (mild) steel (checked them with a magnet). Usually, only the least expensive, auto parts store "add-ons' are actually chrome plated mild steel. Polished stainless, treated with an occasional application of Semichrome, makes for a very durable exhaust tip.

CircleBMW has them for $47 + shipping, link here.

I ended up just buying them from my dealer for $50 a piece + CCA discount, with shipping it would have been a wash.

when i called my local dealer, they quoted me 59.50 each. I asked if they matched online prices, and showed them the circle bmw price, and they matched it.

I just have to wait 3-5 days for them to come in!

Just wrap your exhaust with aluminum foil. Will cost you less than 50 cents

Who did you order them from?

Are these easy to install yourself? When I say easy to install, I mean EASY! I may be able to figure out how to use a screwdriver......

Which dealership in CA should these be ordered from? Beverly Hills BMW does not seem to have it on their website for accessories.

Use the part number on the 1st page to ask the dealer to order them for you. That's what I did.
