Storage nets in Canada?

I believe that people in the US can order these storage nets (located on the back of the front seats) as part of their storage package.
Does anyone here know wether or not we can add this option in Canada?
It's a small but practical addition. I'm not sure if it needs to be attached at the factory or it can be installed later on.

I think it is included in the $350 option "Storage Compartment Package" or at least this is what my CA told me. The test model they got had it.

Yes, a $350 option. And for that cost, I'd advise anyone to get it, I regret not having done so, it includes a bunch of other storage related things.

Thank you guys for your response. It's encouaging and informative. Will point out this package to my dealer here in Montreal. I would like to know what else is included in that package. Do you happen to know the code number for this option or if there is any list of all the packages available for Canada?

Thanks jijioben for this info!

We should have more discussions about Canadian options/needs/prices/dealers... for X3 on this site.

I like that thought. I am still waiting to take delivery - hopefully on Saturday if all goes well. I will post pictures and an evaluation of the dealer...

Im not sure about nets on the back of the seats if you don't order the storage package but a rubber cargo mat does not come with the car. When I picked my X3 up, the cargo mat was not available and i was told it would be available near the end of April. I ended up flipping over the existing cargo panel so the hard plastic side was facing up.

Regarding the cargo mat, I would probably wait for Weathertech to get theirs out as it will likely be cheaper.

My understanding is that if you do not order the Storage Compartment pkg, the $350 option, you will NOT get nets behind the front seats. I think it's $350 well spent.

A second glove box on the driver's side, a net in the passenger's footwell, rails and sliding hooks in the trunk, and a few other things.

It's a must have for a car like this.

I haven't heard anything about storage options in Aus. Anyone have any info regarding whether this is standard or an option please?

I don't have extended storage on mine and I did consider it and then regretted not ordering it for a while but, as Bimmer UK 76 pointed out (link), the nets just end up with permanent junk in them and look untidy. And do you really need the other bits? I might get the shopping hooks for the boot as a separate accessory but couldn't see any use for the other stuff. Had the car two months and no regrets for not ordering

I'm with Sfax - I regretted it at first but now think the back of the front seats look sleeker without the nets.

It's in the dash, between the steering wheel and the driver's door. Right under the light switch. It's about half as wide as the real glovebox, but reasonably deep.

You can clearly see it in the 15th picture here:

I think the storage compartment package is a must in these type of car to attach heavy object in the trunk so you're not getting killed in a sudden emergency stop.

I used to drive CRV, Santa Fe and Tucson and transported a lot of heavy objects in the trunk without using any storage nets and never have any problems.....

Well, this storage net thing is another one of those personal choice decisions. I have ordered it for the small amount it costs as I often use nets, hooks and back of front seat nets for things like maps, grocery items, empty cans or bottles, etc etc. If you don't want it or haven't ordered it, no big deal, you'll get along fine without it. No biggie.
