You get a different instrument cluster with some options - I believe SatNav is one, but not 100% sure

You only get the digital one if you get the HUD.

2014 has totally upgraded idrive. faster processor, faster graphics, better resolutions. lager HD. I too had the choice of 2013 or 14. 14 is def way to go.

In theory I understand its possible but in practice I think it would be cost prohibitive.

I asked the same question at the dealer for my F11 because I missed the cutoff for the black panel display when I ordered. The display unit was £1500(UK Pounds) plus the huge labour cost .... needless to say I didn't bother

Huge labour cost? From what i researched you can replace the panels in 20 seconds. All you need is the coding.

Maybe a little more than 20 seconds

I cant remember the exact time quoted but combined with the coding cost it came out at well over £2000 (inc UK VAT @ 20% )

I recently saw a guy on youtube disassembling and replacing the instrument cluster. The whole thing wasnt longer than 90 seconds. You put two screwdrivers in the holes above the instrument cluster and push it out. Then you just disconect the wires and replace the cluster.
