Angry New iPhone 4S and bluetooth syncing still doesn't work

My iPhone 4s (new iPhone) is still not syncing with my 2011 x28i.

I have tried nearly everything. I have tried multiple iPhones (wife's and bro's) and still no luck.

I get it to sync for phone calls, but not for iPod/music play.

Try page 170 in the handbook:
Pairing and connecting
Pairing a device
To avoid becoming distracted and posing an unnecessary hazard both to your own vehi‐ cle's occupants and to other road users, only pair the device while the vehicle is stationary.◀
1. "CD/Multimedia" 2. "Bluetooth (audio)" 3. If necessary. "Bluetooth audio". 4. "Add new phone"
The Bluetooth name of the vehicle is dis‐ played.
5. Perform additional steps on the device, refer to the device operating instructions: for in‐ stance, search for or connect the Bluetooth device or a new device.
The Bluetooth name of the vehicle appears on the device display.
6. Select the Bluetooth name of the vehicle on the device display.
Prompt via iDrive or the device to enter the same Bluetooth passkey.
7. Enter the passkey and confirm.
8. Select the desired functions with which the device is to be connected, for instance "Audio".
9. "OK" If pairing was successful, the device is displayed
as connected.
White symbol : the device is active as an audio source.
If pairing was unsuccessful: What to do if..., refer to page 172.
Connecting a specific device
A device that has already been paired can be connected as an active audio source.
Connecting is not possible when data is ex‐ changed via a mobile phone connected via Blue‐ tooth.

Garage List
If you do not have the NAV/TECH package you can only use your phone as a phone unless you plug it in in the console USB plug with the adapter cable

Aftermarket Bluetooth Audio Streaming

Flash3, the same thing happened to me. I thought I had ordered everything correctly to insure Bluetooth audio streaming, but I did not. After griping awhile, I did some Googling and found a device on Amazon called a Blackberry Stereo Gateway. Smaller than a hockey puck, I put it on the center arm rest, plug into aux port and 12V outlet (need USB cord and power thingy) Once paired it streams music, podcasts etc. Stops playing for incoming phone calls and resumes upon phone hangup. Works and sounds great for $40. Hope this helps you or others....

Don't now if it helps, but with my Nokia I had first to activate the bluetooth audio on the telephone options in I-Drive and it only plays if I start the music player on the handset first, and even then I can only skip musics via the I-Drive or steering wheel controls.
