BMW F25 coolant leak
Afternoon All!
I’ve got a 2012 X3 F25 and over the last two weeks I’ve had to top up the coolant reservoir every other day. It doesn’t seem to loose coolant if you drive like Doris however if you go to over take on the motorway or up a hill, when I finally come to a stop there is coolant burning off against and smoke coming from the drivers side headlight. When I’ve got home I’ve tried to look but it’s all evaporated by then and I can’t see anything. It seems to be around where the turbo inlet is. Any ideas/help is appreciated. |

The only things i can think of that would leak coolant in that area is either the plastic hose that runs from the reservoir to the radiator is going bad, the radiator has sprung a leak or the coolant hose on the driver's side is leaking.

I have an xDrive30d with the N57 engine and it developed a coolant leak recently.
If it helps, it appears that it is coming from one of the connections on one of the hoses (I think, part number 17128571605). As an aside, do you think that I need an entire new hose from the photos? It only looks like it is leaking from the rubber gasket, which doesn't look like just a normal circular gasket. I am guessing that you probably can't just buy the gasket. That would make too much sense and would be the cheapest solution for me. I don't want to detach anything until I have the necessary replacement part(s). |
