Pirelli P7 or Goodyear Eagle LS2?
I'm buying a set of used style 19" 307 tires and wheels. One has the Pirelli P7 the other has the Goodyear Eagle LS2. Pirelli are slightly more expensive but the cost is minor. (~$150)
We are going from 17" oem Bridgestone Duehlers. Mainly highway driving with a bit of city traffic. Handling is key but don't want excessive noise. We thought the OEM Duehlers had a good balance. Can anyone recommend one over the other? |

perfect timing of your quesiton.
Have an '11 F25. Came with the LS2 direct from South Carolina. They handle very well. They are grippy, they are stiff (which I like). They are not so good in the snow or rain. They wear kinda fast (tread worn about 75% after 25k miles). I had to replace them due to a blowout. Decided to give the Pirellis a try, as some on this board were unhappy with the LS2s. Pirelli Cinturatos do really well in the rain. However, they are softer than the LS2. It really changed the handling characteristics of our F25. We have the active steering/suspension and when I go into sport mode, the steering effect is less noticeable with the Pirellis. I haven't any experience with the tread life. However, the Cinturatos have a treadwear life of 500, whereas, the LS2 have a treadwear rating of 400. I run dedicated studs (Nokian) in the winter. When it's time to replace the summer tires again, I will probably go back to the Goodyears or something comparable. If you are OK with a softer ride, the Pirellis are OK. I am running OEM 18" wheels. Not sure how this relates to the 19" version of the Pirellis. I am curious if anyone else experienced the same as me. Good luck! |

I will probably go with the Pirelli's then. Tires are a funny thing and everyone's opinion is always different since there are so many factors.
I had the same issue when I was purchase all seasons on my WRX. I had some Michellin Pilot Sport A/S. Uneven wear, tire rot and a few issues overall. Wasn't too happy since I paid over $1200 for them. Now I run a summer set and winter set and my life is much better. Thanks for the awesome answer. |

They will arrive today and just realized this whole jackpads and stuff. Ridiculous to spend extra money to jack up a car.
Does anyone know the size of the lugnuts or they also require some type of extra key to be opened? Thanks |

i was going to suggest the Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS runflats - but apparently they don't come in the 17" size, or if they do tirerack doesn't list it as an option for the X3 28i. I bought 4, having them mounted before the end of the month, but I have a 35i w/ 18"....

Has anyone tried these Michelin on their X3? Tire Rack recommends them and I will be replacing my OEM Pirellis soon. I have the 2.8i. I have never been a Pirelli fan and gave had many Michelins on different vehicles.
