How do I replace the shifter crystal?
Hi guys, how do I replace this piece in the picture? I have a 2014 X3 with 82k miles. Any ideas?
I found this replacement piece on eBay. What do you think about that? https://www.ebay.com/itm/232830412918 Looks easy peasy. |

It seems to depend on which engine you have in your X3, not sure why that would matter unless their dbase is incorrect but in looking at the pic you posted of yours, and like 383vett said, for $11, I'd order it and give it a shot. The blue plastic spudger and pick that come with it is pretty typical these days on how to remove many such covers on things. Go for it and report back, I'm sure you aren't the only one with a damaged shifter cover.

The one you linked is for the sport shifter. Yours is the standard shifter (which I prefer the style of more anyways). But this is the one you'd want: https://www.ebay.com/itm/232830410368
